Incorporated in the year 1987 by two brothers, Mr Sukhdevji & Mr Jaidevji, Maakhan Bhog has come a long way! It is a brainchild of a brother who, for the love of food, decided to shift his business from textiles to food, and that's how the first outlet at Nanpura, Surat, was started. The name Maakhan Bhog is inspired by Lord Krishna's love for sweets and maakhan, and the very first outlet was also inaugurated on the auspicious day of Janmashtami, i.e. 16th August 1987! After the commencement, the shop did not make any profits for two years straight, but with the constant hardwork and dedication to keep the quality intact, Maakhan Bhog started taking a turn for good from its 3rd year! At present many people assume that the Ghod Dod branch is the first branch, but it is actually the 2nd branch started due to an unfortunate incident at the Nanpura branch; The Nanpura branch was burnt in the 1992 riots, and due to money constraints, it couldn't be renovated, but as they say 'Where There Is A Will, There Is A Way!' A builder who had seen our hardwork and knew our need to open our new branch at a better place offered us our present 'Main Branch' at Ghod Dod area without demanding any money initially, he was humble enough to wait till we were capable of paying him the charges for his property!

As of today, Maakhan Bhog, with its high in quality sweets and lip-smacking snacks, is ruling over the hearts of every Surti and has 12 outlets in Surat!
